- Necessary (adj) ở dạng số ít thì nó là tính từ và nó có nghĩa là “thiết yếu, cần thiết”. Ví dụ:
- It’s necessary to drink water.
- It is necessary to wear a mask if you’re going outside
- Huy lacks the necessary skills for his job. (Huy thiếu kỹ năng cần thiết cho công việc của anh ấy).
- I don’t have much time so I won’t be staying any longer than necessary. (Tôi không có nhiều thời gian vì thế tôi sẽ không ở lại lâu quá hơn thời gian cần thiết).

- Necessaries (n) là danh từ và luôn ở dạng số nhiều có nghĩa là “đồ vật, nhu yếu phẩm, yếu tố cần thiết”. Ví dụ:
