Rules for phonemes [dʒ] and [ tʃ ]

Between vowels /dʒ/ is normally voiced (keep the friction short and keep it weak) whereas /tʃ/ is still strong and voiceless.

– In final position /tʃ /is strong and it shortens the vowel before it.  /dʒ/ is weak and short , it lengthens the vowel before it. 
– /tʃ/ is slightly aspirated in the position where [ p t k ] are aspirated, when /tʃ/ is final in syllable. It has the effect of shortening the preceding vowel / tʃ /and / dʒ /have rounded lips.
