Difference between compound and derived adjectives

Derived adjective

The difference between the derived and compound adjectives is that derived adjectives are formed by adding the affixes to the root morpheme

Example:

–  Dishonest, impossible, unfair, careful, homeless, childlike, drinkable, destructive….

While the compound adjectives are the adjective formed by combining 2 or more 3 morphemes (Sometime a derivational morphemes can be applied ) together with and are often written with hyphen.

Example:

–  Noun + PT2 (phân từ 2) : home-made

– Nound + adjective : world-famous, tax-free
